I have always loved taking pictures but only since moving to Palm Springs in 2006 have I had the opportunity to further pursue my interest in photography. I've explored much of the desert and the surrounding rugged terrain. I'm inspired by the juxtaposition of the natural beauty at hand and man's impact in nature. The space and light of the desert has been particularly inspiring. I have been able to use my background in studio work to photograph still lifes and friends.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Costume and Set Design. After an apprenticeship in Cologne Germany observing production in a large German Theater, I spent the next couple of years working in the State Theaters and assisting an opera designer in Hamburg. In the summer of 1976, I was fortunate enough to work at the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth.
I moved to NYC in 1979 and worked on many Broadway shows, operas and ballets. In 1984 I joined the staff of set decorators at As the World Turns for which I received four Emmy nominations. In 1990 I moved to Los Angeles to further my career in the entertainment industry. I worked for various television and movie production studios among them, Warner Bros., HBO, and Universal Studios. As well as working with private clients on interior design projects.
